Day 1
DAY 1

Day 1: The Sacred Center & Sunsets

Morning: Reach Hampi and check into your stay. Virupaksha Temple: Start with the oldest functioning temple. Don't miss the temple elephant, Lakshmi, and the inverted shadow of the Gopuram. Hemakuta Hill: Walk up right behind the temple for a cluster of smaller Jain temples and a great view of the landscape. Lunch: Head to Mango Tree for a traditional South Indian Thali. Afternoon: Visit the Sasivekalu and Kadalekalu Ganesha (massive monolithic statues). Evening: Hike up Matanga Hill (30 mins) for the most iconic sunset view over the entire Hampi ruins.

Day 2: The Royal Enclosure & Chariots

Morning (Early): Head to the Vijaya Vittala Temple. Take the electric buggy or walk the 2km path. This is home to the famous Stone Chariot and the Musical Pillars. Mid-day: Explore the Royal Center: Lotus Mahal & Elephant Stables (Indo-Islamic architecture). Hazara Rama Temple (Bas-reliefs depicting the Ramayana). Stepped Tank (Pushkarni) & Mahanavami Dibba. Late Afternoon: Cross the Tungabhadra River via a Coracle boat (round bamboo boat) to the "Hippie Side" (Anegundi/Virupapur Gaddi). Evening: Relax at a cafe with a view of the paddy fields or visit Sanapur Lake for a peaceful lakeside sunset.

Day 3: Mythology & The Journey Back

Sunrise: Hike up Anjanadri Hill. It’s ~570 steps but offers a 360-degree view of the boulder-strewn valley. It’s believed to be the birthplace of Lord Hanuman. Late Morning: Explore Anegundi Village, one of the oldest settlements in India. Visit the Pampa Sarovar. Afternoon: Have a late lunch and start your journey back to Bengaluru.
